Exploring STEM through the Victorian Curriculum F-6
In this session primary teachers develop an understanding of the Victorian Curriculum F-10 and the place of STEM. The facilitator will showcase some examples of successful Level F-6 STEM learning sequences that integrate at least two of the following learning areas: Science, Digital Technologies, Design and Technologies and/or Mathematics. Teachers will be given opportunities to create their own simple circuits, use cardboard construction tools and create a designed solution to the problem of moving on land, in the air and at sea. Teachers will develop an understanding of how these learning sequences are structured and will be provided with planning tools to develop their own STEM learning sequences from the Victorian Curriculum F-10.
