Cost for the Welcome Function is included in the registration fee for delegates. Only pay for accompanying people who are not registered for the conference. Drinks will be available for purchase at the bar.
Cost for the conference dinner is included in the registration fee for delegates. Only pay for accompanying people who are not registered for the conference. There will be a sit-down four-course dinner, including one complimentary drink. A bar will be available to purchase additional drinks. Special diets will be catered for (please specify dietary requirements of accompanying people in the 'Special requirements' section further down)
A 45-minute guided tour of the nearby Bird Sanctuary, including seeing takahe, is offered on two evenings; Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th, starting at 5.45 pm. The usual guided walk fee has been discounted for conference delegates and their families. Max. 30 people per night. Refer to the ‘Call for Registration’ document or ABS website for full details.
Single night trip to Knobs Flat to see short- and long-tailed bats, returning to Te Anau on the same night. The cost of the field trip includes food, hiring of facilities and the purchase of transmitters to enable the location of a short-tail bat roost. Bus transport is provided for those who require it. During the evening two groups will be formed, with one group crossing a river (knee to waist deep) and hiking for up to an hour through the forest to a short-tail bat roost. Please refer to the ‘Call for Registration’ document or ABS website for full details.
There is a limit of 80 people for the field trip. At this stage we are only accepting registrations from conference delegates. If fewer than 80 delegates have registered for the field trip by the close of registrations on 31st January, the remaining places will be opened up to delegate’s families.
